It’s a New Year and I’ve got some exciting new changes in store for you.

Each week’s meal plan contains delicious family-friendly GF recipes utilizing a time-saving method to make getting a healthy dinner on the table a snap! I highly recommend you pop over to The Better Mom and download these free meal plans.

My hope is that these free tools will be a great resource
and encouragement for you whether you’re just getting started with meal planning, or are a seasoned expert.

Top 10 Reader Favorites of 2013

By Kelly · 7 Comments

Top Reader Favorites of 2013As we enter into an exciting new year, I want to offer a heartfelt thank you for making it such a fun year here at The Nourishing Home.

I’ve really enjoyed being able to share some of my family’s favorite real food recipes and personal meal plans, as well as some of my favorite meal planning strategies, cooking tips-n-techniques, frugal budgeting ideas, and overall encouragement and resources to help us all live a more nourished life!

So, I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the most popular posts of 2013. I’ve listed them in a top-10 count down format with the number one recipe being the highest-viewed post of 2013.

Double-Chocolate-Chip-Cookies-TNH
10. Double Chocolate Chip Cookie (grain-free)
What’s not to love? This recipe starts with my famous grain-free chocolate chip cookie recipe and adds an extra dose of chocolate goodness. It’s a no-brainer why this one made this list.

Slow-Cooker-Salsa-Chicken-2
9. Slow Cooker Salsa Chicken (GF)
Slow cooker recipes are hands-down some of the top reader favorite recipes. And this super easy crockpot dinner shared by my dear friend Tiffany is definitely a keeper!

Pantry Makeover on a Budget
8. Kitchen Pantry Makeovers on a Budget
One of the most fun and productive posts of the year, my sweet friend Becky inspired me {and apparently a lot of you} to revamp our pantries without going broke in the process.

Cookie Boys Stirring
7. Kids Belong in the Kitchen {Free Cooking w/Kids-of-All-Ages Printable}
What a joy to know that so many of you are bringing your kids into the kitchen with you to teach them important life skills and even better – build memories that last a lifetime!

Grain-Free-Squaw-Bread-The-Nourishing-Home
6. Grain-Free Classic Brown Bread & Rolls
As someone who’s GF, I created this recipe because I wanted a tasty replacement for one of my childhood favorites. Looks like many of you do too, which is why this delicious grain-free bread has become a top reader favorite.

Grain-Free-Apple-Muffins
5. Cinnamony Apple Pie Muffins (grain-free)
Yes ma’am, readers agree that just one bite is all it takes to be hooked on these scrumptious little breakfast treats!

Breakfast-Collage
4. Simple Healthy Breakfasts in 15 Minutes or Less! (GF)
Again, “simple” wins! That’s why you’ll find even more easy healthy breakfast ideas like these coming in 2014.

crockpot-beef-stew
3. Easy Crockpot Beef Stew (grain-free)
“Easy.” “Crockpot.” Those two words clearly resonate with busy families across the world who want to come home to a healthy meal.

Navigating-Motherhood
2. Free Video Course: Mastering Meal Planning {includes class handout}
It blesses my heart to know that the Lord has used this free meal planning presentation to help so many of you get started {or be inspired to continue} meal planning. It truly is one of the best strategies for saving time, money and stress in the kitchen!

Make-Your-Own-KIND-Bars
1. How to Make “KIND” Fruit & Nut Bars (grain-free)
Apparently my obsession with these little bars is shared by readers across the globe, which is why this post quickly climbed the charts to become the highest viewed post of 2013! Three cheers for nutty goodness!

Oldies but Goodies … literally!
It would be silly not to mention a few of the ultimate reader favorites – after all, these “oldies but goodies” consistently rank among the top 5 highest viewed posts at The Nourishing Home since we started in April 2012.
• Fluffy Little Almond Flour Pancakes
• How to Soak Grains for Optimal Nutrition
• Soaked Oatmeal (GF Option)
• Almond Flour Buttermilk Biscuits
• Raw Cookie Dough Bites (grain-free)

So … did your family’s favorite recipe(s) make the top 20 list? If not, what’s your favorite recipe or post here at The Nourishing Home?

Your opinion matters!
