Fresh Strawberry Salsa

By Kelly · 2 Comments

This scrumptious Fresh Strawberry Salsa is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Plus, it comes together in less than 10 minutes!

Bright and beautiful, fresh strawberries are a healthy and tasty way to celebrate spring! Their sweet, juicy flavor is especially delicious when they’re fresh-picked, which is why we enjoy visiting our local strawberry fields to gather them up by the bushel!

There are so many delightful ways to enjoy fresh strawberries, from fabulous fruit parfaits and kid-favorite muffins to classic strawberry shortcakes and creamy frozen treats! Of course, one of our simple favorites is to dice-up a pound of fresh strawberries to create this quick-n-easy strawberry salsa!

Besides being absolutely gorgeous, this scrumptious salsa is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Plus, it comes together in less than 10 minutes. (I should also mention that it takes less than 10 minutes until it’s gone! Yep, it’s that good!)

Diving into a bowl of fresh strawberry salsa has lots of health benefits too since strawberries are packed with nutrients, fiber and high levels of antioxidants. As a result, strawberries offer a wide range of health benefits, including reducing inflammation, boosting the immune system and protecting the cardiovascular system to name just a few.

Crispy, sweet plantain chipsThis scrumptious Fresh Strawberry Salsa is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Plus, it comes together in less than 10 minutes! are the perfect grain-free way to enjoy this scrumptious salsa. Of course, there are lots of other tasty little edible options for scooping up this flavorful favorite such as my favorite grain-free crackersThis scrumptious Fresh Strawberry Salsa is the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Plus, it comes together in less than 10 minutes!. So grab a chip of your choice and dive in!

P.S. If you’re doing Whole30, remember to forgo the honey (as noted in the recipe). And I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news, but those tasty packaged plantain chips are NOT Whole30 compliant (sorry)! So you’ll have to wait on the chips until Life After Whole30. But no worries! This sweet-n-savory salsa goes beyond an appetizer … it also makes a delicious accompaniment to salads, seafood and poultry dishes, like my Grilled Cilantro Lime Chicken. So pile it on to your favorite Whole30 dishes and enjoy! Yum!

Fresh Strawberry Salsa (GF, DF, Whole30 option)

Ingredients

  • 1/4 tsp lime zest
  • 2 Tbsp fresh squeezed lime juice
  • 1 tsp pure raw honey (omit for Whole30)
  • 1 lb. fresh ripe strawberries, hulled and diced
  • 1 kiwi fruit, peeled and diced
  • 1/4 cup fine diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2-3 tsp fine diced jalapeño pepper, seeds removed

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the lime zest, juice and honey (omit honey for Whole30); set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, add all of the remaining ingredients.
  3. Drizzle lime mixture over the salsa. Gently toss mixture to combine. Enjoy!

Notes

This recipe is incredibly versatile! For instance, you can swap out the kiwi (or simply add) 1 cup of diced mango for a sweeter, tropical flare!

Or toss in 1 cup of creamy diced avocado for an amazing strawberry-guacamole experience!

And be sure to think beyond appetizer … this sweet-n-savory salsa also makes a delicious accompaniment to grilled seafood and poultry dishes, like my Grilled Cilantro Lime Chicken. Yum!

Oh sweet Kelly! You do so much to get dinner on my table each week! I don’t tell you thank you enough! I can’t even express what a gift and load off it is to just click on the meal plan, print and not think anything else about it. I’m always loving the meals, thankful for the prep ideas, and thankful for the confidence in the grocery store with a good thorough list in hand! (On my own, even with a list, I’m quite forgetful!) What a gift you are to me and my family! My sister is now on board too and says the plans have been a life saver! I couldn’t agree more! I go through seasons of sharing your site with EVERYONE I know and this is one of those seasons. I can’t tell you how many moms I’ve sent your way recently who are at wits end with how to feed their families after discovering new dietary restrictions. My guess is you have little idea how much you are serving families across the country. With lots of love and gratitude, d
