Meal Plan Monday: August 19 – September 1

15 Ways to Enjoy Peaches!

In honor of National Peach Month, I thought it would be fun to share some of my family’s favorite healthy whole food peach recipes! So if you enjoy these fuzzy little gems as much as we do, be sure to pick up a crate of fresh, ripe peaches because this meal plan is for you!

One of my favorite ministries is serving as the Meal Planning Contributor for The Better Mom, where I share my bi-weekly real food meal plans as a way to help inspire and encourage others. Each bi-weekly meal plan includes what’s on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as links to more than 40 of the delicious real food recipes featured.

Why is this called “Meal Plan Monday,” when it’s posted on Saturday?
I thought it would be nice to give you the heads-up about what’s on the menu for the week ahead. That way, you have time to take advantage of incorporating some (or all) of the meals featured, if you’d like. Remember: To view the recipe links for each of the meal plans below, please pop on over to The Better Mom.

So … without further ado … here’s what’s on the menu for the next two weeks at
The Nourishing Home. Again, you can find each of the recipe links over at
 The Better Mom.

    Hello,
I enjoy your meal plans, but I’m finding that it takes me a long time to coordinate the plan with ziplist features: it’s meal planning, and particularly with compiling the shopping list. Do you happen to have a link to all the ingredients required for the recipes? Or do you have any suggestions for how to do that. The click-over process for each recipe in compiling my grocery list is tedious, and I’m wondering if there is an easier way.
    Thanks!

Hi, Serena. I wish there were some program out there that more easily generated a shopping list from recipes, but I haven’t been able to find one so far. That’s why I’m still making my own shopping list the old fashioned way – with pen and paper. What I do is look at each recipe’s ingredients and determine what I have on hand and what I don’t. Anything I don’t have, I write down. I just don’t have time to try to transfer it electronically because you’re so right – it is labor intense. My goal is for my meal plans to continue to be a free ministry. So I’ll have to keep looking and see if I can hopefully find a shopping list generator option that isn’t time intensive, as I would love to add this as an option someday. Lots of blessings, Kelly 🙂

I found a site last night called Plan 2 Eat in which you can copy and paste links for your favorite recipes, save them, and then create your meal plan. After creating the meal plan, it will generate a shopping list for you. It isn’t perfect (if there is garlic listed in 2 different recipes, it will list it twice) but you can edit and add things before printing. I am doing a 30 day free trial now and then it is $4.99/month I think. It breaks down the grocery list into different categories too…Like I said, I just used it for the first time last night, but so far, I like it!

Thank you so Much Kelly. You are such a blessing to me. I’m a home-schooling mom of two (Newbie:) and I’ve been dreading the “meal planning” template. It was just one more thing to do on top of the tell million I already have on my plate-to say the least, I was overwhelmed. After watching your presentation, I downloaded the meal planning template, and I’m well on my way to creating my own list.
You seriously have no idea how awesome you are!!!! Thank you so much for all your hard work, I can see your passion for serving and it’s so inspiring to me. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
