Meal Plan Monday: January 7–20

By Kelly · 10 Comments

FEATURED RECIPES: The January 7-13 meal plan features a few of the “Top 10 Reader Favorite Recipes of 2012.” To view the complete list, simply click on the photo above.

One of my favorite ministries is serving as the Meal Planning Contributor for The Better Mom, where I share my bi-weekly real food meal plans as a way to help inspire and encourage others. Each bi-weekly meal plan includes what’s on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as links to more than 40 of the delicious real food recipes featured.

Why is this called “Meal Plan Monday,” when it’s posted on Saturday?
I thought it would be nice to give you the heads-up about what’s on the menu for the week ahead. That way, you have time to take advantage of incorporating some (or all) of the meals featured, if you’d like. Remember: To view the recipe links for each of the meal plans below, please pop on over to The Better Mom.

So … without further ado … here’s what’s on the menu for the next two weeks at
The Nourishing Home:

P.S.  I’ve provided free links, so you can download the new Meal Plan Template for your own personal use.

P.S.S. If you’d like to learn more about meal planning, please check out “Mastering Meal Planning.”

Thank you so much for providing these meals. We are in the middle of a huge life change. We thought we were eating healthy because we had gotten rid of all the fried foods and many other hings, but it was just the stepping stone. This is truly helping us to make some more wonderful changes in our diet. I have no idea how to cook the way you do, these meal plans and recipes are a great start for me. Thank you and God bless!

Hi Again Kelly! Thanks so much for the article! Slow and steady is nice to hear. I am trying to change a lot, but am finding it very expensive! I bought some almond flour today for the biscuits I am excited to make you have on the menu plan and the small little bag was $12.00. I already have to drive 1/2 hour to find it so I am going to have to look for a better source, maybe online.

I truly appreciate your help, it is awesome to find such a great website that has meals my family will like. God Bless!

Hi, Carri. Click on the link in my almond flour recipes and it will direct you to Honeyville Farms, this is where I purchase my blanched almond flour. If you sign up for their free updates email, they will send you a notice of when they’re having a sale. Whenever they have a sale, that’s when I stock up. If you decide you like blanched almond flour, it best to buy it in the largest size you can store, or buy multiple smaller bags on sale and place what you can in the freezer. You will find that with a sale, you can get the almond flour at close to $4.50 per pound – not the ridiculous prices that retail markets charge for it. Hope this helps and thanks again for the kind words! So glad you’re enjoying the recipes! Lots of blessings, Kelly 🙂

Hi Kelly, I have checked out the site, it is great! Thanks 🙂

I made the Almond Flour Biscuits and they were delicious!!! I was nauseated later that night and into the next day, so I am going to try again and see if it happens again. I am not sure if I was just not feeling well due to my medical problems or because maybe I am sensitive to almonds. I don’t eat them them often and when I do it is just a few. I hope it was just my issues because they were so delicious that I prefer them to regular biscuits! lol

I am learning a lot from your site. I appreciate all the time you have put into your information!

            Thanks again and God bless!

Hi, Carri! So glad you you like the biscuits. Sorry you’re not feeling well. Be careful because some people are very sensitive and of course even have allergies to tree nuts. One you’re feeling better try them again and see if you get the same reaction, if so, you may need to be careful with nuts and perhaps try coconut flour instead. Lots of blessing to you! So glad again that you’re finding this site helpful! Blessings to you, Kelly 🙂

Hi there! I am SO thankful I stumbled upon your website from the better mom website! I have a question though. I printed all the meal planning from over there and it says January 19-25. I wanted a shopping list so I came over here because this is where it’s from correct? I can’t find the shopping list but I also cannot find the exact date of the meal plan. I’m confused, help please? I wanted to go shopping tonight so I could start tomorrow, but it looks like I may have to wait until I can figure out where the shopping lists are. I DO subscribe to your site. :o)

Hi, Rebecca. I checked and you do show up as a subscriber as of Jan 19, 2014. So I am assuming you confirmed your subscription? If so, you should have received an email from me right after you confirmed your subscription with my free Healthy Ice Pops eBook and a link to download the most current meal plan. Did you get that email? You may want to check your spam folder to see if it’s there?

As a subscriber to my site you’ll be getting an email every Friday from me called The Nourishing Home Newsletter. In each Friday’s newsletter, I include the following week’s meal plan and the free shopping list and prep day tasks chart.

If you cannot locate any emails, that probably means your subscription was not confirmed, but email me back rather than comment on the blog and we can get this figured out. Many blessings to you, Kelly 🙂
